Picking a Performance horse, Purdy style

In my Chemistry II classe right now we are talking about the chemical nature of different types of addiciton. However, my particular one for some reason isn't in the literature.....but as far as the characteristic lack of self control, I couldn't be more textbook. For the sake of readers everywhere, what out for this......

A clear sign that your tack addiction has gotten out of hand  is when you make horses (or trade/buy) so that you can show off the tack you have aquired. D'Arry and I are planning on driving out to NAN this year (yes, the authorities have been warned) and there are a couple of really special tack items that I just have to show. I love all my Buxton sets, there are several I want to show, so I needed a special warmblood mare in a dynamic pose to wear them. Here is Donnertanzerin  "Thunder Dancer"
Years ago, I got to see the famous German dressage stallion "Donnerhall" in person. He is my favorite warmblood stallion of all time. This gal will be that wonderful dark liver chestnut color characteristic of Donnerhall.
Why a  dynamic pose....well she has to be able to wear that jumping hackamore of course!
And this is Bint Morafina. I needed a pracing arabian to weat the peridot colored costume I showed at Breyerfest last year. Can you guess what she was? And all weathergirl is NOT correct, part of her is
but whats the rest?????? She will be a light fleabit grey
Now she just need a whole pink sparkle circus set to go with this bridle!
I need to get my Azteca done to wear the incredible tack from Vicki I got (and yes, get her second horse done!) and I will have a traditional Totilas for sale in the next two weeks. Just a simple custom with new, smaller and more braids...first come first serve on him and you can choose the color!
If you are interested in the other two, they will be for sale after NAN this year.
Stay Purdy my friends!

Sleigh Rally Show!

Yesterday was one of the best model horse show experiences ever! Just like I love to go to the Quarter Horse congress live show to see some real horses too, at the Sleigh Rally model horse show you get to watch beautiful sleigh teams perform! I took these with my phone camera, so the light isn't perfect but still I think they are beautiful in the snow. If you read Jen's blog, this one was actually the sleigh that was carrying President Lincoln and his wife. I think they were filming some commercial, this team unlike the others did not stop by the crowds of people for still photos. I chased them through the snow to get this. They are Dutch Harness horses and man could they trot! I was told that this team competed at the World Equestrian Driving Games this past year.
This was a lovely matched team of warmblood mares. They never missed a step together.
 There was even Skijorring!
The sleighs were all unique and stunning in their turnout!
Oh yeh...models....giggle. Purdy Zippin Chic got overall perfomance champ, Jen has more pictures up at http://www.braymere.blogspot.com , this one was taking to show how helpful Jen's pictures can be....can you spot the Braymere blog photo?
Purdy Zippin Chic will be available after NAN, but this little winner can go to a new home now. This show was tough since resins and customs showed together, but Purdy Zippin Chic got second in her big halter class and this guy, a repaired HR lippit remade into a Highland pony, won his big class! He is for sale at $500ppd.
And Vicki's new guy won his class! He sports a new BLM freeze brand as well. Your new guy can come home a winner Vicki!

Progress!

With the new year, I too need to get some backlog done. This guy is the first off the trade list (gotta feed the tack addiction). I just love the Brio resin! Hope you like him Vikki, just can't wait to see the tack. Buckskin silver is one of my favorite colors to paint, I really need to do one for myself. One down, and one to go Vikki!
Speaking of tack addiction, look what came in the mail!
I wanted Tiffilicious to have traditional saddleseat tack, so I even got her a new doll, WITHOUT pink! I show her as a Park Pleasure division horse, set tail, but not a five gaiter. Jen, this bridle is fantastic! (as always)
The hard thing about making her was for her NOT to look like the a walker..so I had to stretch out those clock horse legs and refine them. She also had to have new eyes and bigger, finer nostrils. I love the Salinero head, but the saddlebred standard calls for large, expressive eyes and a straight, not convex profile. So her head actually has been totally resculpted. When I did Lady Liberty and Freedom Generator, the head barely had to be touched.
Finally some better baby pictures of Wap Divana. She is still for sale, but Upwey Brass is on his way to his new home.
Got a marwari in the works next, stay tuned! Pictures will be on the blog first!
Wap Divana is qualified in halter and workmanship for 2013-2014

Show Report, new customs!

Well I finally got around to getting something done, its always so busy here around the holidays. I got side-tracked with getting Princess Trillium done (see Jen's blog) and have to crack down on myself to get some trade pieces done this next month. But I did want to get a few new ones for myself done for the show I attended this past weekend up in Wisconsin. This first one is Upwey Brass, a remake of the new stone morgan. He has had his head tucked and turned, new mane and tail, and is a rich dappled bay. He won in halter, workmanship, in other performance and western, so he is multi NAN qualified! He also was overall reserve custom champ. This guy is for sale at $550 plus postage.
This next one is just for me, I finally got a saddlebred mare done for myself, in of course, palomino! This is a stretched out clockhorse with a redone Keltic head....meet Tiffilicious!
I had to totally redo my parade set just for her with a new bridle, breastcollar, and a new doll!
This little doll is a stone weanling remake, she won in halter and workmanship, meet Wap Divana! She is also for sale at $500 plus postage. Her blanket has all kinds of hair details and she has itty bitty sporthorse baby braids!
Just another shot of the morgan, had to show off the new bridle Jana Skybova made it, its just so Purdy!
I will try to get some studio shots done this week, but with school starting again it might be a few days. Here's to a great new year!

Show Report

Having have a training experience like this???? "Kiss this Lyons" was what happens when D'Arry is left alone too long with my stuff. Don't worry Jen, your beautiful saddle survived! Apparently Rat Poison was not thrilled with the attempt at trying to turn her into a performance horse......she did get overall halter champ though. This weekend I was at the GLC No Frills show in Huntley, Illinois. It was a blast and a much needed break from work to enjoy my model friends.

This little pebbles morgan (above) is still for sale....any offers? Coppered Brass is NANd in halter and workmanship, I would love to get him into a new show home! Scroll through the blog for more pictures.
But this morgan was the star of the show!  "Light Brigade" is a CM PS new morgan mold into the perfect show gelding. He has to leave for his new home tomorrow, but wanted to share just how successful a standing model can be shown in performance. Below he is showing with my amazing new Aussie set by Jana Skybova. Here the rider pauses to check the map during a Equitrek competition.
Here is a studio shot of him, and yes, this is my favorite color of morgan!
The nice quiet pose is perfect for trail, pleasure, dressage, you name it! I have a couple more PS morgan bodies, the next one will be a more park/halter type mare.
The past weeks since congress have been crazy busy, quarter tests, new labs to be done, conferences, and oh yes, Halloween. I am not sure who like Treat or Treating more, but these two girls loved dressing up!
Back to work!

Show Report QH Congress

Quarter Horse Congress was awesome! Not only do these gals put on a great show, but the whole atmosphere of the real horse showers, the food, and the shopping make this show a must do every year. However,  I do have to leave the hubby in charge at home. Being a great dad,  he went and got Payton and Mieka's Halloween costumes.  Payton will be one of the characters from Monster High, and Mieka is Sparky from Frankenweine, not sure which of them likes their costume more. What is so funny is that Mieka actually loves to put outfits on, such a little princess!

Rat Poison was overall grand in halter and workmanship...whoo hooo! She doesn't look very grateful though.....
My new parade set won its class so now it can go to NAN. D'Arry and I are road tripping out to PA next year, I can't wait!. Hopefully we (okay I) will not eat as much as I did this weekend...the food at Congress is unbelievable. For lunch I ate every type of meat that this incredible real BBQ place had to offer. I think it was only three pounds, D'Arry thinks four...I did let her have one rib
The little Morgan won its class in breed and workmanship...he is still for sale special price that you will only see here if you read the blog $350!
AND THE SHOPPING!!!!!! One of my favorite things to see is the Harris saddle booth. I don't ride western, but man do I love the bling! I sooooooo have to have this saddle!!! I think I am going to try it in pebbles scale.....scary!

Off to Congress!

Hard to believe the first quarter of school is already done....the last couple of weeks ended up being a crunch at work, but a fun crunch. My Chemistry II class got to make fireworks (safely) in the new lab, something we never could have done last year, got my quarter assessment written, survived Homecoming week, and FINALLY managed to make something I have always wanted...a pebbles scale parade set!
What Jen didn't mention is how much more I would rather trade for tack than make it. There is a lot of beer, bleeding fingers, and foul words involved when I make tack items, its NOT Purdy! But this is something I have been wanting to do and figured no one would really want to take this one on. Notice, no pink, no leopard...just zebra and lots of bling!
D'Arry gave me the rider that I customized to fit the set. I really am happy with how it turned out, but this in now way fixes my tack cravings. I did get an amazing pebble Australian set from Rachel that I didn't have time to photograph, but its just make the cravings worse and remind me of how much I enjoy getting tack from others!

The horse is the breyer BOTW warmblood, now an Iberian type warmblood in a forward trot.
Buckskin going crey has always been a favorite color.....
Leaving for congress tomorrow, gotta get packing....the ISH and the mule are sold, but this guy is available for $450ppd
Will have internet access while at the show, and have the camera ready this time to take LOTS of pictures of all the horses, including the real ones. If you have never gone to the QH congress show, its amazing! Look for updates on Sunday night!
